Melanie Torno

LPC-MH, QMHP

Melanie Torno is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health (LPC-MH), Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP), certified school counselor, certified mediator, certified divorce and custody mediator, and a sand tray play therapist. A voice of reason in high conflict situations, she has worked in trauma facilities, private practice, residential settings and school districts.

Melanie graduated from Black Hills State University in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Human Services and graduated from South Dakota State University in 2004 with a Masters of Science in Counseling and Human Resource Development. She specializes in trauma and blended family issues, is EMDR-certified and is trained in CBT-Trauma-Focused therapy. She is approved for the 4th and 7th circuit courts of South Dakota for mediation, custody evaluation and parent coordination.

Backed by years of professional training and experience, Melanie is committed to offering the best care for her clients via individual counseling, family counseling and marriage counseling, as well as counseling services for children and adolescents. She provides relief from symptomatic behaviors while addressing root causes and core issues of those behaviors. She specializes in counseling services for trauma victims, sexual abuse, blended families, relationship issues, anxiety and depression.

In addition, Melanie offers divorce counseling, custody evaluation, mediation services and mental health counseling in a compassionate environment, taking the whole family into consideration to provide more thorough and well-rounded support. With two decades of experience and expertise, she takes the big picture into consideration with each of her clients to offer the most appropriate approach to high conflict situations. She meets with parents and children one-on-one, visits homes, provides psychological evaluations through third party resources and makes recommendations to the court based on all aspects of a family situation.

A wife and mother of 5 children in a blended family, she knows firsthand the challenges that blended families often face. She is committed to using her unique mix of education and life experience to assist families with custody transition concerns, parenting plans, individual and family counseling services and more.

Olga Kopp

LPC Supervisee

Olga Kopp graduated from Pacific National University in 2016 with a Bachelors of International Relations and graduated from University of North Dakota in 2021 with a Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology and Community Services. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Supervisee.

Olga is passionate about making a difference in the Black Hills community by helping people to achieve mental health and family goals. She would like to help clients to envision their desired outcomes, while growing as a professional. Olga is passionate about helping clients to maintain and overcome stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, trauma, PTSD, relationships/family problems, motivation issues, and body image/eating disorders.

Olga recently moved to Black Hills with her husband to build a family and a career as a mental health counselor. She enjoys Black Hills nature and landscape. On a side from counseling work, Olga likes to spend time with her husband in nature by hiking on Black Hills trails. She is also a mountain biking enthusiast, certified open water diver, and yoga lover. On her leisure time she likes playing the piano and ukulele, and singing.
